Tennille holds dual qualifications as a dental hygienist and dental therapist and has had many years experience as a dental assistant.
Tennille obtained her Bachelor of Applied Science (Human Biology) degree from the University of Canberra in 2002, and her Bachelor of Applied Health Science (Oral Health) from the University of Queensland in 2007.
Upon completion of her studies Tennille joined the Preventive Dentistry team in January 2008. She currently works at Preventive Dentistry on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays, and at the ACT Health Child and Youth Dental Health Program on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
In her role as a dental therapist, Tennille is qualified to perform examinations, place fillings, fissure sealants and remove baby teeth for patients up to 19 years of age. Her role as a dental hygienist involves the cleaning and polishing of teeth, treatment of periodontal (gum) disease, taking X-rays and impressions and giving advice to help patients prevent dental problems.
Patients are instantly put at ease by Tennille’s gentle, caring and professional approach to her work. She is passionate about delivering quality dental treatment and sharing her knowledge with others. A testimony to Tennille’s dedication is her volunteer work, which involved visiting schools to educate children about the importance of healthy teeth.
Tennille is the Secretary for the ACT Dental Therapist’s Association (ACT DTA) and a member of the Dental Hygienists’ Association of Australia (DHAA).
