Deb loves being part of the team at Preventive Dentistry - and it shows as she is still here after 30 years! She is committed to helping people keep their teeth for a lifetime. Her knowledge, skills and experience are immense and her enthusiasm for her job is infectious.
Born in the USA, Deb obtained her degrees in Dental Hygiene and Biology from the University of Minnesota. After making the move down under Deb has been a dental hygienist with the Preventive Dentistry team since 1983.
Deb has been a mentor to many staff members over the years, and her influence has inspired some to pursue a career in Dental Hygiene.
Patients love Deb and her ability to deliver excellent dental care with a touch of humour. Over the years Deb has developed a great rapport with her patients and has become a part of their lives. Many patients who started coming to the practice as children are now bringing their own children to see her.
Her role as a dental hygienist involves duties such as the cleaning and polishing of teeth, treatment of periodontal (gum) disease, taking X-rays and impressions and giving advice to help patients prevent dental problems.
Deb is a member of the Dental Hygienists’ Association of Australia (DHAA). She has had a very active role in the association’s ACT branch over the years, holding the positions of President and Secretary, and serving as co-editor of the branch’s newsletter, website co-ordinator, and symposium committee member.
Deb is a Christian and is an active member of St Matthew’s Anglican Church. Her interests include travelling, tennis, reading, studying, hiking, gardening, water/snow sports and hanging out with friends.
